Alex Shockley's youngest 7 summits

Alex Shockley is in pursuit of his dream - to become the world’s youngest person to climb the 7 summits. Seven or 7 summits is the holy grail of mountaineering. It is the feat of climbing the highest peak on every continent. Alex is from Minnesota and currently studies at the University of Colorado in Boulder.

Although this feat has been achieved by a hand full of mountaineers, Alex is aiming to become the youngest to accomplish this epic undertaking.

Backcountry Safety will be by his side on this long trip. We provide Alex with his safety equipment, which we hope he will never have to use, and an online space where he can share his experience with all of you.

Alex Shockley plans on climbing the 7 summits by July 2008. If successful, Alex will finish the seven when he is 20 years and 11 months old, breaking the previous record by several years. We wish him the best of luck and we ask that he exercises extreme caution and does not fear turning back rather than pushing the experience over the limits.

To follow Alex Shockley's bid on seven summits check our website regularly.

Sponsorship

We encourage any potential sponsors to support this young and talented climber, so he could live the dream we all have. If you are interested in working with Alex please contact us or Alex at alex@shockley7.com. Also, visit Alex' website.
